Our Commitment to Your Privacy

All third-party vendors and service providers who handle protected health information on our behalf are required to sign Business Associate Agreements (BAAs) in accordance with HIPAA regulations.
Secure Online Forms & EMR Integration
All forms used on the Alma Recovery Center website are designed to be HIPAA-compliant and are integrated with our Electronic Medical Record (EMR) system. Information submitted through our website is transmitted using secure encryption and becomes part of your protected health record when applicable. We do not use unsecured contact forms or non-compliant third-party tools to collect sensitive information.

Third-Party Service Providers
Alma Recovery Center works with trusted third-party vendors to deliver and support our services. These vendors are permitted to access protected health information only to the extent necessary to perform services on our behalf, and each is required to maintain appropriate safeguards under a signed Business Associate Agreement (BAA) in accordance with HIPAA.
Our current covered vendors include:
- Ritten, Inc. — Our electronic medical records (EMR) platform, purpose-built for behavioral health and substance use disorder providers. All client intake forms, clinical documentation, and treatment records are managed within Ritten’s HIPAA-compliant environment.
- Microsoft 365 — Used for staff email communications and internal operations. Microsoft operates under a signed BAA covering its healthcare-eligible services, including Exchange (Outlook), and maintains enterprise-grade security and compliance controls.
No vendor is authorized to use your protected health information for any purpose beyond the services they provide to Alma Recovery Center. We do not sell, rent, or otherwise disclose your information to third parties for marketing or commercial purposes.
Website Analytics & Tracking Technologies
We use Google Analytics to understand how visitors interact with our website. This helps us improve site performance, content, and user experience. Google Analytics collects non-identifiable information such as pages visited, time spent on the site, browser type, and general geographic location. This data is aggregated and does not include your name, contact information, or any protected health information.
We do not use advertising pixels, ad retargeting tools, or social media tracking technologies on this website. We do not sell or share personal information for marketing purposes.

Confidentiality of Substance Use Treatment Records (42 CFR Part 2)
Alma Recovery Center complies with 42 CFR Part 2, which provides strict confidentiality protections for individuals receiving substance use treatment services. Under federal law, we cannot disclose any information identifying you as a client without your written consent, except in limited circumstances permitted by law. This includes confirming whether you are receiving services at Alma Recovery Center.
Your information will not be shared with employers, family members, law enforcement, or other providers unless:
- You provide written authorization
- There is a medical emergency
- Disclosure is required by a valid court order
- Reporting is required by law (e.g., suspected abuse or neglect)

New Mexico State Privacy Law
Alma Recovery Center complies with all applicable New Mexico laws governing the confidentiality of health information, including those related to behavioral health and substance use treatment services.
Under New Mexico law, certain types of health information receive heightened protections, and disclosure may be more restricted than under federal law. This includes information related to:
- Mental health treatment
- Substance use disorder services
- Communicable diseases, including HIV/AIDS
- Other sensitive health conditions as defined by state statute
When New Mexico law provides greater privacy protection or requires additional authorization beyond what is permitted under federal regulations such as HIPAA or 42 CFR Part 2, Alma Recovery Center will follow the more restrictive state requirements.
